Today we’ll learn how to draw 4 easy kawaii animals: cat, porcupine, bear and bunny. 🙂
I made a video tutorial for the porcupine, and I made step-by-step image tutorials for the other animals. Please enjoy drawing these cuties, and please share them with your friends!
Video Tutorial: How to Draw Kawaii Porcupine Step-by-step
The steps for drawing this cute porcupine (or hedgehog!) are very simple.
- Draw a circle with a line in the middle
- Add legs and zig zag outline
- Add the face and a few decorations (flowers, etc)
- Outline with a pen and erase pencil lines
And here is the image tutorial. You can save it on Pinterest or download it to your computer.
Now let’s look at a few more kawaii animals that you can easily draw in minutes. These are perfect for drawing with kids, or designing your own greeting cards.
How to Draw Kawaii Cat Step-by-step Tutorial

- Draw an egg shape with a line in the middle
- Add details, such as ears and legs
- Add a face
- Outline with a pen and erase pencil lines.

Sure, have a look at these links. They show a few different styles for drawing cute horses. 🙂 Some of them are unicorns or zebras, but the basic body shape is still of the horse. Is this what you are looking for?

Hi Chloe, kawaii zoo sounds really fun! I would love to see your finished drawing. E-mail it to me at tatyana@kawaiidrawings.com 🙂 For the background, draw simple elements, like trees and maybe some buildings in the distance. Not too much detail, because if the background has many details it will look busy. This will make the kawaii animals get lost in it and won’t look good. Instead, keep the focus on the characters, and use simple drawings for the background.
